Be creative Kids Art LessonsI would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Leah Tringali the owner, an artist and operator of Be Creative Kids. I hope to begin art lesson in my studio soon, I plan to start in September with group and individual art lessons for children. There are two types of classes I plan to offer to all ages: Learning art through other Artists multicultural and art history based education- children of all ages will learn design and basic art concepts while discovering the world of art history and world from other cultures. Art. Art project and lesson will include learning the art of Africa, Greece, Native American and Australia. For example children with design age appropriate art projects such as African Textile Prints, Greek Vase Design, Native American Bark Paintings and Aboriginal art. Learning from the Right side of the Brain Betty Edwards, artist and author of Drawing from the Right Side of your Brain has created art lesson and exercises to see with the artist's eye. She states and I believe, that when our eyes are train to see like an artist it just takes practice for our hand to draw it. I plan to teach Betty Edward's exercises and techniques to enhance your child's skill. Classes would be designed around age and type of class Learning art through other Artists Learning from the Right side of the Brain A little History about Be Creative Kids I guess I started this wonderful journey of mine as early, as when I was a child in elementary school. Daily as I left my home to go to school my father would say to me "Leah have a good day and be creative". This quote followed me through my school years and when it was time to decide what I was going to do with my life, I decided teaching children, what I loved to do, would be the answer. I taught in a New York public school for seven years, until I was ready to have children of my own. When I was home with my children it was a time of discovery and one step at a time, my journey took another path. Why not do what I love and offer this to others, kid like designs and styles to create a wonderland for all children. So my venture now is to help to create a child's environment to be magical. As my children are growing and are able to understand art concepts and drawing techniques. I am beginning to feel the need and want to teach art to children along with painting myself. I have a working studio which is also a children's unique toy store and hand painted furniture showroom in Westfield Ma, I would like to offer this creative space to children and parent to offer art lessons for children. What's better then being surround by hand painted murals and lots of art supplies, for a child to create. As you can see from my collection of hand painted furniture, I vary in style and technique and can offer a creative way to teach drawing, and painting to children. When I taught in public school my focus was to teach children the world of art, my focus was multicultural art lesson and art history concepts, Children in elementary school learned about African textile weaving and Greek vase designs. We explored Asian watercolors and experiment writing in Chinese. Along with lesson about the master and the "not so master" of art history, children recreated Vincent Van Gogh Sunflower Still life and created Henri Matisse like collages. This is what I would like to bring to my studio and children in the area. A sense and understand of art as a whole, learning about art from other cultures and the long history of artist and their influences. |
