I have seen new headers offered with Automotive Ceramic Coating on them,
can you do my old headers the same? Yes, and maybe better. Our process will insure
adhesion versus the process when they are coated in a factory. Extensive
cleaning and blasting are the key to a beautiful finish. Can you coat cast iron exhaust manifolds? Yes, and they come out looking new. Typically we
use a ceramic coating to match cast iron. We have perfected the restoration
process for heavily pitted manifolds. We do not use any type of putty,
primer or filler. If repair is needed only filler wire will be used to weld. What about heat, I am running a turbo/supercharger? Not a problem. We have used this coating on
turbo/alcohol/nitrous powered cars and not a blemish. Ceramic will be stable
at 1,600 degrees and will take a 2,000 degree flash. How do you coat internally? Most shops tape do a flow through system.
Basically they tape all the ends and pour the fluid in and shake it around.
There are problems with doing this, the main problem being rust. We, on the
other hand, have invested in the proper equipment. An internal, flexible
spray gun is used to properly coat any and all internal bores.
