What is Ceramic Exhaust Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid material that is heat and
corrosion resistant, heated in an oven at curing heat. When applied
correctly this high temp powder coatings can withstand 1,600 degrees
Fahrenheit and take a flash of 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This
coating will allow the exhaust gasses to flow faster by reducing
carbon build up, in turn offering a performance gain.
I have heard of a different name, is it the same?
Ceramic exhaust coating has many different names. HTC, High
Temperature Coatings, Jet Coat, Jet Hot and Thermal Barrier Coating
to name a few. What kind of performance gains can I expect? There is not a specific formula, but we have
had customers dyno test an engine before coating and after coating and
they have reported gains. In fact one customer that did extensive
testing reported a gain of 7% horse powder and 8.25% gain in torque on a
full race motor. That's impressive!
I have chrome pipes on my bike, can you do some
thing to stop them from bluing?
Thermal barrier coatings will stop the bluing of chrome or stainless
pipes. It is used internally only. TBC will Help heat soakage and
increase HP too. What do you coat?
From turbo compressor housings to exhaust tips we can do it
all. Traditionally we spray internally and externally unless specified
otherwise.
